Modern understanding of the causes of migraine
Migraine is headache that is of the nature of nervous system. For a long time, it is widely believed that migraine falls on people with family history of neurosis or mild neurosis (Epilepsy, hysteria, psychosis). Usually it breaks out during puberty period or during adulthood. Some triggering factors are: 1. Fatigue (Both mental and physical) 2. Emotional disturbances 3. Excessive eating or drinking behavior 4. Inappropriate living lifestyle However, newer understanding of the cause of migraine focuses more on inappropriate external factors that causes blood vessels to clamp and thus results in localized lack of blood. This causes pain (migraine). Some proposes the pain factors is a current released from the brain that is similar to the nature of epilepsy. |
